Pick n Pay smart shopper
Pick n Pay offers a free grocery loyalty card and shoppers can earn and spend points on a variety of deals. Customers earn points when they swipe their smart shopper card at a Pick n Pay till point -earning 1 point for every R2 spent.

Swipe your WRewards card at any Woolworths, Country Road, Trenery, Witchery, selected WCafé, NOW NOW or other WRewards partner stores in South Africa as this will enable you to:
- automatically earn instant savings, and earn other benefits based on your status level; and
- determine by your annual spend in these stores and your online purchases. See explanation of status level below.
- The rewards offered under WRewards are in addition to the benefits earned when you pay with a Woolworths Store or Credit Card.
Woolworths offers personalized loyalty cards and virtual reward tokens that can become shared with friends and family members if desired by sending them an e-mail invitation.
Checkers and Shoprite Xtra Saving Rewards Cards
Shoppers can sign up for Xtra Savings for free. You can sign up in-store, via the website, the Xtra Savings Support Centre, the Checkers app, USSD, or our WhatsApp channel.
Checkers requires customers to swipe their cards at tills to receive discounts on a variety of items. The card will allow savings of up to 25% on groceries.
Checkers Xtra Savings benefits:

- Access to the till slip enables you to track your savings.
- Notifications for Black Friday promotions and other competitions.

Shoprite Xtra Savings customers will receive instant discounts of up to 40% off on everyday essentials. There will also be added benefits in the form of free airtime, and additional savings on combo deals, which are applied automatically at the till.
If you are wondering if you can use it at a Checkers store the answer is, Yes, you can score instant savings at any Checkers, Checkers Hyper, or LiquorShop across the country.
Shoppers can link their Xtra Savings cards to their Money Market Accounts. shoppers can deposit funds and use them in the form of vouchers at Checkers and Shoprite stores.
Shoppers can use vouchers to purchase goods, airtime, and electricity. They can also send vouchers to friends and family.
You can also link your Checkers Xtra Savings Rewards card or your Shoprite Xtra Savings Rewards card to your Sixty60 account.
Xtra Savings cards can be used interchangeably at both Shoprite and Checkers branded stores – although they are only applicable to the respective brand’s promotions and discounts.
Makro mCard
In Makro’s rewards program, you can access deals specific to mCard. By purchasing these items you earn mRewards – cash back in your mWallet to spend at Makro. You have to download the mCard app on your phone.
Your cash rewards on the mCard app are stored in a mWallet. Funds in your mWallet can be spent on purchases in any Makro store or transferred to any other mCard holder at your discretion.
You can send money to another user, however, you’re only allowed to use the mRewards cash you earned.
Spar Rewards
SPAR Rewards sends you monthly electronic product coupons that will be redeemed automatically when you swipe your card or quote your cellphone number at till points. All you need is your cellphone number to sign up online or in-store.
There are also two ways you can earn some of your grocery money back. SnapnSave and PanelSmart have a cashback programs.
SnapnSave
Is an app that gives you cash back when you shop in-store. It’s a free app, you can download on your phone or SnapnSave website. Book the items that you like and go shopping and take a picture of your slip. You will get paid into your SnapnSave wallet.
Keep in mind your slip will be reviewed first before receiving the money and once you have booked your items you have 48 hours to purchase your items.
- Discover and book offers on your device
- Go to any retailer with a digital till slip & buy the items you’ve booked.
- Snap a photo of your till slip & ka-ching!
Take your phone along to the shop & use "My Booked Offers" on the mobile site or the app as your uber-smart shopping list.
Once you’ve accumulated cash in your wallet (R50 minimum) you can cash out. Options include EFT transfer to your bank account, instant cash withdrawal, or other options.
